Dear 2019,

You were more, you were less. More or less. What did we focus on?

You were sobering. More children, more cages, more shootings, more hate. What did we do about it?

You were intoxicating. Superblooms, butterflies, wondrous sunsets, miracles in plain sight, and can I get that on free 2 day delivery?


Dispelling illusion has been a bumpy ride, and now Truth sits on the edge of a cliff...

Roped at the neck... held by snakes. Who will save her?

After this year, we’re either kneeling at the bottom of a barrel, or bowing at the feet of our greatness. Which one do you choose?

I’m still an optimist. I still believe the best is yet to be. I still know most people are mostly good. In a world filled with unanswered questions, does your mind doubt I’m right?

Come closer, let me change your heart.

Say goodbye to 2019. Take one last look. Survey your heart. Take stock of your conscience. Remember what matters. Let go of the rest. Unclinch your fists. Palms face up. On baited breath, into the unknown we go.


You sit at the precipice of promise and possibility. Pick your poison: fear or love. Make a wish. Give a damn. Grab a hand. And your ruby slippers. Together, we will find our way home.




BREATHE. Sounds so simple, yet we often hold our breath when we are stressed, fearful, or unhappy.



LAUGH. Laughter releases all those feel-good brain chemicals. Watch a funny movie, silly YouTube videos or read something humorous.



LISTEN. There's some good science out there that suggests listening to music--specifically kirtan & mantra music--elevates your mood.
